IBM Maximo – MAS 9.2 is here! – Part 2

Having looked at the new AI features in IBM Maximo Application Suite 9.2 in the first article, it is worth taking a closer look at the new features that are more closely related to day-to-day operations: visual inspections, capital planning, industry-specific processes and mobile working.

Maximo Visual Inspection has also been further developed in MAS 9.2. Quality inspectors can capture images on iOS devices and use trained AI models directly for visual inspections. In addition, IBM is modernising the underlying model frameworks to further improve performance, accuracy and maintainability.

Another key component is asset investment planning. MAS 9.2 supports a more integrated planning process: optimised scenarios can be incorporated into a global investment plan, intervention work orders can be generated directly from them, and strategies can be continuously optimised.

Industry-specific processes are also addressed in greater detail. In Maximo Real Estate & Facilities, for example, AI can extract relevant information from lease documents and automatically populate lease abstracts.

There are also enhancements to mobile working. Among other things, IBM is adding new and improved functions to Maximo Mobile relating to material requisitions, sites, crew work order management and inspections. It is therefore becoming increasingly important for organisations to ensure that standard mobile functions, existing processes and customised extensions are seamlessly integrated.

MAS 9.2 is not merely an AI update. This release introduces specific enhancements for visual inspection, capital planning, specialised asset processes and mobile execution.
