Papier- und Kartonfabrik Varel (PKV) is a medium-sized family business with around 600 employees. It produces cardboard and corrugated cardboard for the German and international packaging industry using waste paper and state-of-the-art environmentally friendly technologies.

Papier- und Kartonfabrik Varel did not have an IT-supported maintenance system in use until 2007. The company wanted a holistic, integrated EAM solution.

SPIE RODIAS supported PKV in all phases of the project with the evaluation of requirements, specialised design and technical specification.

In future, the company would like to introduce a mobile solution in some areas of order management and materials management. Here too, PKV is relying on the mobile solution from SPIE RODIAS to develop pilots for the first sub-areas.

The solution offers a central platform for managing maintenance and materials management processes. They create transparency in maintenance and thus provide important starting points for optimising maintenance and reducing costs.
