OPTIRA
Optimise your projects
OPTIRA - What's that?
- OPTIRA optimizes your complex planning projects (such as deconstruction projects) in terms of time and total costs using mathematical methods.
- OPTIRA is an add-on to your project planning tools and can be perfectly integrated into your system landscape
- OPTIRA: An innovation that brings science and industry together. The development is carried out in close cooperation with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
initial situation / Challenge
- Challenging task: Creation of a project plan (work breakdown structure) taking into account all restrictions regarding time and resource capacities.
- Even with just a few hundred tasks, it is practically impossible to ensure optimal utilization of resources and time without tool support.
- Many project planning tools only resolve planning conflicts by moving individual tasks into the future.
- Planning is optimized through your own considerations without computer-aided optimization.
- After recording the current project progress, planning conflicts can arise again:
- The project controllers have to resolve planning conflicts manually and this is complicated and time-consuming.
- Shifts on the critical path extend the project duration and increase the overall costs.
This means: time, money and resources are not optimally utilised
Solution: Project planning and control with OPTIRA
- Computer-aided optimization of the project plan
- Frequently optimization after recording the current project progress
- Automated resolution of planning conflicts.
- The project controllers are relieved of time.
- Standard adapters to MS Project, Primavera and Excel enable optimization "out of the box" by importing and exporting the data. The project management tools previously used can still be used.
- Individual use of the project planning tools is mapped by an individual adapter.
- Simulation of several project scenarios: By changing plan values (e.g. resource availability) different scenarios can be calculated and compared.
