Optimising autonomous fleet operation: The Power Of E.RAMP

E.RAMP, the ‘Robot Analysis and Monitoring Portal’ from SPIE ESCAD Automation GmbH, supports operators and maintenance staff of AMR/AGVs in increasing fleet productivity and ensuring rapid troubleshooting. E.RAMP is provided as Software as a Service (SaaS) in the Google Cloud Platform and offers a comprehensive package of functions for analysing and monitoring AMR/AGV fleets.

Key Features:

Operational Monitoring: Overview of the current status of the fleet with fault dashboard.

Creation of statistics and analysis reports: Visualisation of key operating figures such as kilometres driven/day, missions/day, status distribution, mission duration, productivity KPIs, as well as movement profiles and error hotspots.

Mission and fleet analysis: Analysis of completed missions (display of the route used on a map and POI on the route) and fleet scenarios to analyse the interaction of the robots in the fleet.

Error Notification: Configurable notifications to users about errors via e-mail, MS Teams or EAM systems for rapid rectification.

Customer-Specific Reporting: Possibility of customised reports (e.g. on specific missions).

Real-Time Analysis: Continuously reads data from robots and ensures that it is immediately available in the dashboard and for analysis.

Data Security: Ensures maximum security through encrypted data transport and storage, regular system patches and CIS hardening

Advantages for different user groups:

  • Operator: Enables the identification of error hotspots and offers detailed analysis options for missions and fleet interactions. Simplifies the creation of statistics and provides insight into the utilisation of the fleet.
  • Maintenance: Has a dashboard for faults, fault location localisation and the option of connecting to an EAM system for efficient troubleshooting.
  • Manufacturer: Provides functions to gain insights for optimising robot and fleet performance.

The E.RAMP Data Collector installed at the customer’s premises collects the operating data (e.g. status, battery level, coordinates) and transfers it to the Google Cloud for processing and analysis. The flexible data collector enables manufacturer-independent data collection and thus facilitates hybrid fleet monitoring.

Operation in the cloud offers a number of advantages with a high level of security at the same time:

Scalability: The required CPU and memory resources are dynamically adapted due to the increasing data volume and the possibility of variable query periods.

Encryption of the data: Data is transmitted and stored in encrypted form at all times to ensure optimum protection.

Low operating costs: SPIE ESCAD operates the SaaS platform with the aim of keeping costs low for the customer.

Maintenance: The application is regularly updated with the latest security patches.

User administration: E.RAMP has a centralised user administration with the option of connecting external customer identity providers.

The E.RAMP dashboard always shows the current fleet status as well as the status of the mission queue. The integrated fault dashboard, automated notifications and fault location localisation help maintenance staff to rectify faults quickly. It is also possible to connect to EAM systems to create work orders and error messages, especially for recurring problems.

For statistics and analyses, the data can be selected at fleet, robot or mission level for different time periods.
